Explain why crossing over between non-sister chromatids of homologous chromosomes cannot occur during mitosis. In Meiosis and Mitosis Help Please?? :))

In mitosis there is no pairing of the homologous chromosomes so it is not possible for chiasmata to form between them and hence, no crossing over.
