how did lives of women change after world war 2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

they changed in several ways. for one, they were given an opportunity to show what they could do, and sharpened their skills more as they were employed industries that were established to supply and support the war effort.

tastetherainbow is on the right track. To add to their answer, during WW2, women were allowed to work in the arms industry which was a pretty big change from their traditional "at home" role. Because they were allowed to work and demonstrate that they were just as capable of helping the war effort as anyone else, it was a step forward for greater independence from the gender role that they were stereotyped into. After WW2 when they were expected to go back to their previous lives, it was much harder for many to do so after experiencing that kind of freedom.
