A slide projector has magnification of 10. If a slide of dimension 6 cm square is projected on the screen ,the area of image in the screen is a. 6 cm square b. 60 cm square c. 600 cm square d. 6000 cm square Explain.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Magnification is given by:\[m=\frac{ h _{i} }{ h _{o} }=\frac{ w _{i} }{ w _{o} }\]where m is the magnification; hi is the image height; ho is the object height; wi is the image width; and wo is the object width. So both the image height and width are magnified by the same amount. Do you see how to find the answer now?
