1. You are the Senior Network Administrator for XYZ Corp. Users are complaining that ever since a new wing and new computers were added to the network access to the network database is very slow. Upon investigation you determine that there are broadcast accounting for 90% of the network traffic. What device can you add to the network to resolve this problem?
Adding a device seems like addressing a symptom and not the problem. If this event horizon is causing congestion due to broadcast chatter then find out what the broadcast is for. If it's a resource search broadcast (ARP would be a legit example) then discover why it isn't resolving. If it's other route related traffic then figure that out. Generally, un-mitigated network broadcast indicates a deeper failure. Most legitimate software has no desire to flood the network. It's generally looking for something and can't find it. If that isn't the problem (perhaps it's a bug in some software) then you can attempt to mitigate it with routing rules (using a device) or contacting the nefarious software vendor.
