Solve on the interval (0,2pi): sinx-2=cosx-2 When I did this I got tan(x)=0 with solutions o, pi, 2pi

OpenStudy (anonymous):

u r going to get tanx =1

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Doesn't -2 cancel and become 0 when I add 2 to one side?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sinx = cosx-2+2 sinx = cosx now divide both sides by cosx

OpenStudy (anonymous):

now u will get tanx = 1

OpenStudy (anonymous):

as tanx is positive ,therefore, x will lie in first and third quadrant

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay so I came up with the solutions pi/4+pi n, 5pi/4 + pi n. Is that correct?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

u r going to get pi/4 and 5pi/4
