You have at least 2 ways in which to approach this problem. 1. You could graph the two different halves of the function near and at x=0 and determine whether or not the two half graphs ever meet. 2> You could simply substitute x=0 into each of the 2-part function given. Do the resulting y-values agree or disagree?

umm 5(0)-8=-8 so -8<0. That one is correct -4-0=-4 -4>or equal to 0. That one is not correct
