A circular plate has a diameter of 6 inches. What is the exact area of the plate? A.3π square inches B.9π square inches C.6π square inches D.36π square inches

hartnn (hartnn):

For circle \(Area ,A = \pi d^2/4\) where d= diameter of the circle. just plug in!

what?

hartnn (hartnn):

if you don't understand, then first find the radius radius = diameter/2 =... ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

What you have to remember is that Area=pi r^2. So area is r which is 6/2 and then square that so you get 9 and then add the pi at the end. So it is B.
