-m^2=-81

hartnn (hartnn):

so whats m^2 =.. ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

do i have to square root to both sides?

hartnn (hartnn):

first, multiply both sides by -1 \(so, m^2 = 81\) now you can take square root on both sides :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok so does it come out to {9} or {-9,9}

hartnn (hartnn):

\(m = \pm \sqrt{81} = \pm 9\) it can take both positive and negative values :) 9, -9

thank you for helping! (:
