tim has a rectangular prism with a length of 10 centimeters a width of 2 centimeters and an unknown height. He needs to build another rectangular prism with a length of 5 centimeters and the same height as the original prism. The volume of the two prisms will be the same. Find the wudth in centimeters of the new prism.

Volume of prism1= Volume of prism2 Let height be y And width prism 2 be w 10cm x 2 x y = 5 x w x y 20y = 5w(y) 20 = 5w w = 4 Therefore the width of prism 2 is 4cm.
