One question. Find the distance between coordinates.

OpenStudy (johnweldon1993):

We can either make this a triangle...or just use the distance formula... \[\large \sqrt{(x_2 - x_1)^2 + (y_2 - y_1)^2}\] plug in those numbers... (-3,4) and (-7 , -1) We have \[\large \sqrt{(-3 - (-7))^2 + (4 - (-1))^2}\] \[\large \sqrt{(-3 +7)^2 + (4 + 1))^2}\] \[\large \sqrt{(4)^2 + (5)^2}\] \[\large \sqrt{16 + 25}\] \[\large \sqrt{41} = \space?\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

6.4, thanks. I didn't even think of a triangle and just using Pythagorean Theorem.
