A bag contains 5 black marbles and 4 white marbles. A spinner has 3 equal sections labeled 1 through 3. What is the probability of drawing a black marble from the bag and spinning a 1 on the spinner?

OpenStudy (mckennarian):

What you want to do is find the probablity for both. So the odds of picking a black marble would be 5/9. Spinning a one would be the probablity of 1/3. So you need to find a common demonator. 3 is the lcd, so it would equal to 5/9 + 3/9 = 8/9. That is the fraction, im not sure if you need the percentage. ^^ I think thats how you do it.
