Let set C = {1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8} and set D = {2, 4, 6, 8} Which notation shows the relationship between set C and set D?

OpenStudy (amistre64):

you will want to review the definitions of the notations most likely, but pick the onw you think it is and we will correct you if your mistaken

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I believe it would be C ∩ D

OpenStudy (anonymous):

A U B (A union B) = 'either A or B occurs or both occur' A n B (A intersection B) = 'both A and B occur' (A is a subset of B) = 'if A occurs, so does B' Those are the definitions.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh ok it's C ⊆ D. Because if C occurs so does D. The numbers from set D are in set C so there it is C ⊆ D.

OpenStudy (amistre64):

D is contained in C; \[D\subset C \]
