Because LBJ "agreed" to UN rules (for you slower progressives our troops were to remain BELOW the DMZ and wait for the commies to come South)...Just as TRUMAN in Korea fired MacArthur so he could "give" the N Koreans back to the "nice" Kim butchers

The vietnamese were a gargantuan race back in the 50's. 60's and 70's. Some were rumoured to evn tower over 8 feet. James Napoleon, an early 40's explorer, claimed that he saw some tribal viets that were more than 9 and a half feet tall! They also had advanced technology such as drones, and robots that helped them win.
