A boy is pushing a chair by applying a force of 5 newtons. His mother helps him push it faster by applying an additional force of 7 newtons in the same direction. What is the net force acting on the chair? 2 newtons 5 newtons 7 newtons 12 newtons 14 newtons

@iPwnBunnies can you help me real quick with a conclusion?

OpenStudy (ipwnbunnies):

Yeah, the net force is the sum of all the forces acting on something. Your pushing it with 5 Newtons in one direction. Then, your mom also pushes it in the same direction with 7 Newtons. The net force is 5 N + 7 N = 12 Newtons

Thank you very much @iPwnBunnies
