How does the value for A change when r increases?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The area for the a circle is a=pi(r)^2

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

definitely increases : longer radius => larger area

Thank you so much!!!

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

Also notice that, if u increase the area by a factor of \(k\), the Area increases by a factor of \(k^2\)

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

\(A = \pi r^2\) Increase the radius by a factor \(k > 1\) : New area is : \(A_{new} = \pi (kr)^2 = k^2 \bullet \pi r^2 = k^2\bullet A \)
