PLEASE I BEG OF YOU!! CAN SOMEONE HELP ... Triangle ABC is similar to triangle DEF. Using the image below, prove that parallel lines have the same slope. You must show all of your work to receive credit. http://assets.openstudy.com/updates/attachments/52f8f07ae4b0512c88e753a1-prowrestler-1392046753404-2tri.jpg
AB and DE ---> both have an undefined slope. BC and EF ---> both have a slope of -2 And you see...both sets are parallel lines.
Ok, I'll try.
For the above problem, I meant that BC and EF have a slope of -1.
Slope equals change in y divided by the corresponding change in x Note that one triangle hypotenuse has a slope of -2/2 or -1 The other has a slope of -4/4 again a slope of -1. Both lines have equal slope (-1) therefore by definition the they are parallel. Now if we are talking the vertical and horizontal lines that make up the legs they too are parallel as the horizontal lines have a slope of 0 and the vertical lines have a undefined slope so they would be parallel also.
You're welcome.
So, try to split it up into shapes we are familiar with.|dw:1398194944616:dw| That's the original drawing.
|dw:1398195014948:dw| Do you see what I mean? Try to split it up and calculate the areas of the individual shapes.
I'll try to find one...
For some reason, I no longer can view the drawings that are posted.
I don't need medals, award a1234
I think you can only give one medal.
I awarded a1234, he did the most work.
yes
Thanks for the medal radar!
I just hope that I start seeing the drawings that are posted in these boxes.
You're welcome.
