ok so i got if u find an area to both sides then subtract. am i correct? please help

Gosh, I haven't done one like that in a while either... IF I remember correctly, than yeah you would find the area of both sides, than subtract the area of the smaller one from that of the larger one. Are we right, @ranga

Correct. Find the area of the outside rectangle and subtract the area of the inner rectangle from it.
