OpenStudy (31356):

Brady's groups equation is y=7x+5 where x is the number of rubber bands and y us the total distance in inches. If Barbie is going to fall 100 inches, how many rubber bands should be attached to her feet?

OpenStudy (31356):

Medal Rewarded!!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

100=7x+5 95=7x X~14 So 14 rubber bands

OpenStudy (31356):

@MelissaHolmes

OpenStudy (31356):

Okay thanks!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hi! :D

OpenStudy (31356):

Sorry I wasn't here lately Melissa...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

a) Brady does not like barbies b) @reyannagirl is correct :D

OpenStudy (31356):

Okay lol

OpenStudy (31356):

I need help again if you don't mind?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok :D

OpenStudy (31356):

When Brad's group completed the Bungee Barbie with a Ken doll, they found out if they attached 5 rubber bands to his feet, he fell 10 inches. if they attached 8 rubber bands, he fell 27 inches. Write an equation using the data given.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hmmm... what kind of equation?

OpenStudy (31356):

y= ......

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh ok :D

OpenStudy (anonymous):

y = 5.67x - 18.33 OR y = 16/3 x - 55/3

OpenStudy (31356):

Okay thanks! Need your help 2 more problems...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok

OpenStudy (31356):

If Ken wants to jump off a cliff that is 260 inches in height, what is the maximum number of rubber bands he can use without dying?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so using the equation: y = 5.67x - 18.33 from above, you plug in the value 260 for y: 260 = 5.67x - 18.33 x = 49.008

OpenStudy (31356):

Okay thanks! One more problem left!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ok! :D

OpenStudy (31356):

If Ken gained weight and now falls 50 feet with 5 rubber bands and 60 feet with 8 rubber bands, how would that change the graph.

OpenStudy (31356):

Lol imagine Ken gaining weight....

OpenStudy (anonymous):

He now weighs more, so that would mean that the rubber bands would have to stretch more due to his weight, so it would shift. It would now be y = 0.3x - 10

OpenStudy (anonymous):

lol haha yeah :D

OpenStudy (31356):

Okay thanks! my lifesaver!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you're welcome! that was actually kinda fun, strangely enough :0

OpenStudy (31356):

Lol :)(:

OpenStudy (31356):

The first problem she answered wrong I checked it, it wasn't correct.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

cool! u gonna take pics?

OpenStudy (31356):

Yea lol :)(:

OpenStudy (anonymous):

u mind posting a few afterward so i can see

OpenStudy (31356):

Sure, if I have time though....

OpenStudy (anonymous):

of course :D sry... im a bit overexcited... my school doesn't do anything cool like that... every year we do the same play: A Midsummer's Night Dream.... it was fun first time, but every year, over and over is kinda boring :(

OpenStudy (31356):

Oh, you should attend my school lol!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

where r u? lol

OpenStudy (31356):

Can you check the first problem? It doesn't seem right ...

OpenStudy (31356):

Texas

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hmm..... 13.57 is the exact answer, it IS about 14.....

OpenStudy (31356):

Oh lol, we round it lol, we can't have part of a rubber band lol...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah.. so then it is 14

OpenStudy (31356):

Gtg ttyl....
