Soviet Communism versus Western Democracy. The Eagle versus the Bear. Stars and Stripes versus Hammer and Sickle. Sounds like different governments and economies to me.

That would be correct. As you know, the US was a democracy-we gave rights to our people as well as personal rights. The Soviet Union was a communistic country-their people had barely and rights (including land ownership, businesses, and money) and were ruled by basically dictators. The US had some major issues with this and the Soviet Union was the same with us.
