how do i verify euler's formula

OpenStudy (tkhunny):

Verify? Pick a verifiable case and show that it works?

OpenStudy (lovelyharmonics):

euler's formula is =F+V=E+2 F is for faces V is for vertices E is for edges Faces are the flat surfaces. Edges are the lines that are formed in a polygon ( like lines in a rectangle, etc. ) Vertices are points joining these lines.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no i have to show that cos x + i sin x + 1 = 0

OpenStudy (lovelyharmonics):

okay .-. i am no good at sin cos or tan so @campbell_st come back please c:

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

well just pick a solid... say a square based pyramid... 5 faces 5 vertices and 8 edges... does that work in the formula... try it with a cube 6 faces 8 vertices 12 edges see if it works

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i have gotten as far as cis x = -1

OpenStudy (tkhunny):

Try \(x = \pi\)
