I believe number 1 isn't A, but I think it's D. Think about it, it said what was the "most likely". In theory, the choice you chose, which is competition from another species, they can still fight that species and maybe even win, but what would you think happened if they food disappeared? There isn't a backroad to that. I think it's D.
