Dilation Question.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@Rea201, this is the last big question that I have. Can you help me?

OpenStudy (rea201):

I can help

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I know that the picture will be an enlargement, but I don't know how to do it.

OpenStudy (rea201):

This one is going to be very easy for you

OpenStudy (anonymous):

How so? What do I have to do?

OpenStudy (rea201):

all you have to do is multiply each of the coordinates by 4

OpenStudy (anonymous):

A(-3,1), B(4,-3), C(2,3), D(-1,4) Are these the coordinates of the current picture?

OpenStudy (rea201):

Correct!!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

A(-12, 4), B(16, -12), C(8, 12), D(-4, 16) So, these are the coordinates of the dilated image?

OpenStudy (rea201):

Yup!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thanks, when you said multiply by 4, that got me looking at the coordinates again. That's when I realized that each square was by 2. You really helped me. :)

OpenStudy (rea201):

Glad i could help!! And if you ever need anymore tag me!!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ok, :)
