=5x-2-x+2/ 4x
=4x/4x
=1

2) What is the sum?
1/2b + b/2
Find the common denominator, which is 2b.
So, 1+b^2 / 2b

3) What is the sum?
1/g+2 + 3/g+1
Common denominator is (g+2)(g+1)
(g+1)+3(g+2) / (g+2)(g+1)
=g+1+3g+6 / (g+2)(g+1)
=4g+7 / (g+2)(g+1)


4) What is the difference? r+2/r+4 - 3/r+1
Common denominator is (r-4)(r+1)
=(r+2)(r+1) - 3(r-4) / (r-4)(r+1)
= r^2+3r+2-3r+12 / (r-4)(r+1)
=r^2+14 / (r-4)(r+1)
