I have a few questions on biology that a review from my book can someone help me out with the few I don't understand please
first questions An antibiotic reduces growth of a newly discovered bacterium. How will the antibiotic most likely function if it is to inhibit an enzyme in a cell? a. alter the enzyme's shape as a competitive inhibitor b. bind the active site and reverse the function of the bacterium c. compete with the bacterium to produce more molecules in the same amount of time d. block the active site of the bacterial enzyme (I tried to look in the book but could find anything on antibiotics and trying to search the internet for some sort of understanding did not work either
question 2 : internal membranes help compartmentalize the functions and metabolic activity within a eukaryotic cell. How do membranes make the organelle more efficient overall? a. increase the number of cells within each organelle b. allow each organelle to have the same ph due to the double-layered membrane c. allow distinct planes within the cell for specific activities to occur d. accelerate diffusion across the membrane
last question: A proteins environment can affect protein structure. In some cases this process is reversible by removing the conditions that changed the protein initially. Which is an effect of changing the environment of a protein? a. Unfolding from the quaternary structure only b. different folding patterns c. changing of polarity d. separation of monomers, altering the direction of proteins.
tbh i dont know umm hold up is this physical sience or health
