Company A rents copiers for a monthly charge of $360 plus 12 cents per copy. Company B rents copiers for a monthly charge of $720 plus 6 cents per copy. What is the number of copies above which Company A's charges are the higher of the two?
It's the point where the two straight line graphs intercept , which you can solve with an equation. Here is how your equation is suppose to look like: 360+0.12=720+0.06x at the equal point where x is the number of copies Now take 360 from each side.
Can you take it on out from there?
so the answer would be 6000 ?
Yep!:)
thnk you (:
Glad to help!:) No problem!:)
do you know DG's Plumbing and Heating charges $50 plus $60 per hour for emergency service. Bill remembers being billed just over $300 for an emergency call. How long to the nearest hour was the plumber at Bill's house? ____ hours
would it be 4 hrs ?
Same here. Set up the equation like I did above.
