help me out please!!!!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

What's your question?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The scale factor of two similar rectangular prisms is 1/5. The surface area of the larger prism is 3125 m2. Solve for the area of the smaller prism

OpenStudy (anonymous):

please:(

OpenStudy (anonymous):

undeadknight26?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it would be 125 m^2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you've helped me out again babixz101! thanks sooo much:)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You're very welcome! Let me know if you need anymore help! :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

um... could you explain how to do this so I can finish the assignment/.\

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thank you:)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yeah, haha. I divided 3125 by 5 since the smaller prism was 1/5 the size of the larger one. After dividing I got 125 m^2 :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok so could you walk me through my next one? then I can finish the rest of the assignment. :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Sure what do you have to do?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The scale factor of two similar triangular prisms is 2. The volume of the smaller prism is 52 yd3. What is the volume of the larger prism? so first I would divide 52 and 2?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No, whatever the linear scale factor you square it for area and cube it for volume. Volume of the larger prism = 2^3 x 52 = 8 x 52 = 416 cubic yards . That's pretty much it! :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I didn't really have to walk you through it because all you have to do is write down the equation. haha :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh! im not the smartest as you can see. thanks:)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Haha, I'm not that smart either. :p I'm good with equations, but bad with everything else! haha. You're welcome! By any chance do you know what permutations are? :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

a permutation is a way a set of numbers are arranged. need some help with them?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yeah, haha. I have to solve one, but I have no idea how. It's 6C3. Can you explain how to solve it?
