(1) There was a time that people thought I should not even go to school because I did not talk. (2) There were teachers, doctors, and specialists that told my parents that there was no hope for me. (3) I am sure my parents felt discouraged, but they never gave up. (4) They kept trying different techniques to help me talk. (5) I went to speech therapy, occupational therapy, and specialist upon specialist. (6) Nothing seemed to work. (7) It was a very dark time of my life. (8) I was bored and felt like a failure even though I had so many important things in my head.
