Please help!!!!!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

What is the value of x?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

A. 5.7 B. 8.5 C. 9.0 D. 17.0

OpenStudy (anonymous):

lol this has no geometry in it \[4x-26=2x+8\] solve for \(x\)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

First off, you can tell by the dashes on each side of the triangle that they are all congruent, which means the triangle is an equilateral triangle. Since all the sides are equal, you can set these two sides up in an equation, like so: \[4x - 26 = 2x - 8\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh sorry, didn't see satellite answered already lol.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

your answer was better, mine was terse

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i got 9

OpenStudy (anonymous):

let's go through it... 4x - 26 = 2x - 8 subtract 2x from both sides. 2x - 26 = -8 add 26 to both sides. 2x = 18 Divide each side by 2. x = 9 You're correct :)

thank you!! :D
