Will fan and medal, this is my last question on a test and I need to be finished really son, I just need help. Create your own quadratic equation that has an axis of symmetry of x = −1 and whose graph opens down. Then find the vertex, domain, range, and x-intercepts. Show all work to receive full credit.

If it's a test, you shouldn't be submitting it on this website.

It's a pretest but you can't leave anything blank

OpenStudy (mathmale):

the only way in which I'm going to help you would happen only if you list what you've already thought about and done in terms of solving this problem yourself (finding vertex, domain, range, and x-intercepts), plus what you need to know.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Can you help me from like the first step? I'm not looking for given answers, I honestly need help. Like with the whole thing :/. Im sorry im just really lost with the whole quadraic thing

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@mathmale hello?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I do know that the x value will be negative because the parabola opens down.

OpenStudy (mathmale):

Unfortunately, that is not true. it's the axis of symmetry that has the equation x=-1. You are free to draw a parabola that opens either up or down. The x-component of the vertex will be -1. I'm sorry, but if you need an explanation of every step of this process, and cannot contribute to the process, it's expecting too much to ask someone to lead you through the whole thing. Test or pre-test, the fact that "testing" is involved suggests a lot of previous work that wasn't done. If I'm wrong, show me the previous work you've done with quadratics.

It's a pretest as in before you learn anything about them. Idk its very confusing. If you cant help thats okay Ill just explain it to my teacher or something that I had no way to answer the quation as I did not know the process or steps in it
