PLEASE HELP:which equation can be used to solve the problem? how many 8-gallon cans are needed to hold a total of 120 gallons of water? A.C/8=120 B.8/C=120 C.8+C=120 D.8c=120

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok so there are 8- gallon cans and you need a total of 120 gallons of water…. so you need to multiply 8 by a number (or variable) in order to get 120

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I still don't understand a little :(

OpenStudy (anonymous):

that's ok

OpenStudy (anonymous):

we'll start again :D

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok :D So what do we do first? none of the could be answers have anything to do with multiplication.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok so it is asking you how many 8 gallon cans you need to have 120 gallons of water right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

8x15=120

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok so we can eliminate 2 answers because they are dividing. When you are asked to find how many cans that are 8 gallons to equal 120 you can't divide because when you divide you get small numbers.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

…. basically you just solved the answer for D. :D

OpenStudy (anonymous):

15, 8-gallon cans will get you 120 gallons of water

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yayyyy lol so the answer is D.?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yup :P

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Omg thank you soooo much I will fan you! :D

OpenStudy (anonymous):

:D hahaha no problem :D
