explain how federal income taxes support the economy and benefit the common good.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Federal Income taxes are the main way a government makes money, through its fiscal and monetary policies. Basically, all the goods and services that seem "free" such as firefighters, public schools and such are all paid for by taxpayer money, so the more taxes collected, there should be a better quality and quantity of those goods and services for the common people.
