a rubber ball is dropped on a hard surface and takes a sequence of bounces, each are 1/7 as high as the preceeding one. if the ball was dropped at a height of 21 feet, how far did the ball travel by the 5th time?

d1 = 21 feet to start d2 = 3 ft back up + 3 feet back down d3 = 3/7 ft back up + 3/7 ft back down etc. add them together.
