essentially the same pronumerals regardless of their coefficient can be added together and constants can add/subtract together.
yes exactly
OpenStudy (anonymous):
e.g. 2b - b = b
technically there is meant to be a 1 in front of the b but we don't write it out
OpenStudy (anonymous):
and for constants
e.g. 3 + 5 = 8
OpenStudy (anonymous):
ok so do I just add all the like terms?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
and that's my answer?

yep, you add the b's together, the x's together and the constant
OpenStudy (anonymous):
so your final answer should include b, x and a constant
OpenStudy (anonymous):
i got b-9x+4
OpenStudy (anonymous):
yep that should be the correct answer

thanks!!@JayDS
