Why do so many deadly natural disasters occur in China and Southeast Asia? 1.These regions' latitude and longitude is especially prone to cyclones. 2.It's a coincidence. 3.Disasters in other parts of the world are under reported. 4.Disasters in these areas are more likely to be deadly due to dense populations and poor infrastructure.
Is there statistically valid data to support the assertion?
don't know... ;o
without it the answer is really pure speculation. This 'pacific rim' subject to earthquakes and volcanoes. Also is in typhoon region. BUt 4 is possibly a factor - except you might argue that this doesn't contribute to the incidence of events - only their severity. Rather a subjective question to be a multi-choice answer in my opinion
"deadly" is key here #4 - high popn density and poor infrastructure
