find the area of a regular hexagon with an apothem 10.4 yards long and side 12 yards long. Round your answer to the nearest tenth

OpenStudy (accessdenied):

Have you encountered this formula before? \( A = \dfrac{ap}{2} \) Where p is the perimeter and a is the apothem.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes i just have problems remembering how to do it

OpenStudy (accessdenied):

Well, we already were given the apothem to be 10.4 yards. The perimeter is the distance around our hexagon. But since we have the side length, and all the sides of a regular hexagon are the same, we can multiply the side length 12 by the number of sides 6 for the total perimeter. Is that clear?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes thanks for the help

OpenStudy (accessdenied):

Glad to help!

OpenStudy (rockinhood):

I got 381.6, am I correct?
