Ah, without the picture the question doesn't make sense. It still is a bit ungrammatical even with the picture, but now it is possible to see what they intended :-) I think someone posted a very similar question the other day that I meant to write a response to, but lost track of the window before I had a chance to do so. Here's my chance for redemption :-) Have you tried factoring the polynomial? I think that will show you the way...
