OpenStudy (anonymous):

the lines represent solutions for one equation. in other words, where there are black points, the equation is satisfied

A system of equations has more than one equation. Because every equation has a line, it also has more than one lines. For the system to have a solution, there must be an X where both of the equations have a Y value and agree on it. They must have the same Y-Value for a same X-Value.

So it's the second one?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

YES exactly!

Thanks you so much :) <3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It is the second one, because it only agrees in one spot on the Y value. the red one has infinite solutions, because they agree everywhere
