PLEASE HELP MEDAL/FAN?! A student rolled 8 number cubes and counted the total amount of even numbers to simulate the number of questions she might guess correctly on a true/false test with 8 questions. The dot plot below shows the results of one hundred trials. Based on this data, which number of correct answers is most likely? I think it is C. 3

OpenStudy (amistre64):

which column has the most dots?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

3, right?

OpenStudy (jlg030597):

i think 3's right

OpenStudy (amistre64):

it might be the average, or mean of them all

OpenStudy (amistre64):

this is a freq distribution, which would need to be addressed as far as stats go

OpenStudy (amistre64):

might be thinking to far into it ... 3 seems fair

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok, so since there are the most dots, 3 is the answer, ok, thanks! :D

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I generally wouldn't ask a question like this, but I just took a 10 page history test, and I am too tired to think, but I have to get this done... so thank u :D

OpenStudy (amistre64):

3 is the mode, which if this is a normal distribution would equal the mean, or expected, value

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OHH!!! ..... >.< now i really feel stupid, yeah, I read about that just now, but apparently i didn't absorb it or something...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It is definitely 3. I just scored 100 on that test.
