If you are diagnosed with a viral infection, such as the flu, would your doctor prescribe antibiotics for you? Explain your answer. @Whitemonsterbunny17

OpenStudy (anonymous):

message me?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

doctors will prescribe antibiotics even if a person is suffering from viral infection because ,during viral infection the defence mechanism or the immune system will be weak , so as to prevent further infections by bacteria they give antibiotics that kill or suppress bacterial activity , rather than causing any kind of harm to viruses . antibiotics are for killing bacteria not viruses . its just that common cold or flu has to go in 7-10 days automatically .

There are no medicines meant for viruses !
