The heart is made up of four chambers. Two atria (top half) and two ventricles (bottom half)

The right atrium receives unoxygenated blood from the body and pushes it into the right ventricle. The right ventricle then pumps the unoxygenated blood to the lungs where it is oxygenated. The left atrium then receives this newly oxygenated blood from the lungs and pushes it into the left ventricle which then sends the blood (with lots of oxygen for the body to use) to the rest of the body.

The blood from the body then returns to the right atrium and the cycle starts all over again.
