Question

When writing a story would you find it appropriate to mention what someone is going to say later on so that you don't actually need to have a scene for it since it is just a minor detail?

For example: as they raced towards the exit only one man was awake to see. later on he would tell andrew that it seemed as though they were walking blind.

this is very rough but just to get the idea
