Either this question is a terrible one, or I'm tupid. :P
2. Two forces that characterize the Contemporary Era are: A. a hatred of totalitarianism and a hope for prosperity. B. a love of freedom and a desire to promote democracy. C. a fear of nuclear war and a desire to fight communism. D. a loss of faith and a continued hope for the future. E. a longing for the past and a desire for new technology.
Contemporary Era began after the nuclear bomb on Hiroshima. But it also included the Vietnam War, civil rights movement, hippie movement, communism, desire for new tech, etc. ._. I was leaning more towards B and C... Idk for sure.

B and C are definitely the right answers. Not D as the Contemporary era is sometimes called Pax Americana. Not E because people during this time felt that technology was progressing very quickly. Not A because America was prospering (assuming this question is purely about America)
I agree, B and C seem to be the best answers.
