x(8-x)+6 x= -6

-6(8-(-6))+6 (I don't know if this step was executed correctly)

-6(8+6)+6

-48-36+6

=-78

I'm not sure if it would be (-48-36)+6

I have, I'm in 11th grade, my mom is taking a pre-algebra coarse and, I'm so far ahead I forgot how to work that out, I got it for the most part, I just need that one step checked.

you are correct !! in this step -6(8+6)+6 , here we can first simplify bracket like 8+6 = 14 so we have -6*(14) + 6 = -78
