what is the difference between differentiation and partial differentiation

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Not much of a difference. Partial differentiation is dv/dt and differentiation, replaced the d with delta, indicates that the function you want to derive is a function of multiple variables. Let me know if that helps.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

consider the function f(x,y,z)=0,when we are doing partial differentiation of y say with respect to x,we consider all other variables(z) as a constant while in normal differentiation we do not consider z as a constant.........
