To calculate the perimeter of a triangle, you have to add all the side lengths. We don't know what the side length of the hypotenuse (longest side) is. So we work with the Pythagorean Theroem: a^2 + b^2 = c^2. a and b are considered the "legs" of the triangle, and it doesn't matter what side is a or b as long as it isn't the hypotenuse (c). Can you solve from here?
