In which sentence does the verb agree with the subject? A. Books and television entertain us on a rainy day. B. The ducklings and their mother waddles toward the pond. C. Mosquitos and rain makes an outdoor picnic pretty miserable.

The answer would be A. Usually, if you are referring to more than one object/thing, the verb for it would not have an 's' at the end. While, if you are referring to a singular object for example 'The book sits on the table' clearly it would have an 's' at the end. Thus, answer B and C are incorrect. The only answer left is A where there is no 's' at the end of the verb to indicate that you are referring to multiple things, in this case 'books' and 'television'.
