Find the slope passing through the points (5,9) and (5,-2) Answers: A. -11 B. 0 C. 11 D. Undefined

OpenStudy (btaylor):

The slope can be found with this equation: \[m=\frac{y_2-y_1}{x_2-x_1}\] So for your coordinates, plug in the values and evaluate to find m, which is the slope.

Because both the "x" values are the same, this is a vertical line. In a vertical line, the slope is undefined.

I agree. @sistagurl21: Would you please actually sketch the locations of these two given points on the xy plane, and then draw a line through them both? Describe what you see.
