Triangle DEF is a dilation of Triangle ABC with center (0, 0). What is the scale factor?

OpenStudy (nali):

where is triangle DEF ? is there a picture?

OpenStudy (nali):

a scale factor is basically how much bigger is triangle DEF compared to triangle ABC take a look at this link it might be very helpful to understanding how to answer your question http://www.icoachmath.com/math_dictionary/scale_factor.html

OpenStudy (nali):

Now for your problem, as in the link, you could use a side of triangle ABC/a side of triangle DEF to get a scale factor or a ratio of how much bigger is the DEF triangle is compared to the ABC triangle

OpenStudy (nali):

I am really sorry, I thought triangle DEF was bigger, sorry in all my above comments replace DEF with ABC so we need to find how much larger is ABC to DEF

here is how you could solve your question @arrodriquez
