help.

the last one.

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

Well, the probability of having tails come up on the coin is 1/2 and the probability that the cube shows and even number is (also) 1/2. Multiply the to, 1/2 * 1/2 , and you get 1/4. (Why multiply? b/c we are finding the probability of the 2 events occuring at once, you know what I mean).

OpenStudy (anonymous):

prob of red and blue is= (2+3)/(2+3+5)=1/2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

number 10 not number 9.

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

There are 5 red and blue marbles. And the bag contains total of 12 marbles. (doesn't matter that you chose a marble, since you returned it already, before chosing again) No, (3+2) / (2+3+5) = 5/10=1/2 as hanzi sad before.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so whats number 9? cause i got 1/2 for number 9.

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

No, you are close though... the Probability of 2 events (rolling even on a cube, and having tails come up on the coin) is what you are looking for. The probability of rolling even on the cube is 1/2 because exactly half of the numbers on the cube are even (they are "2", "4" and "6", OUT OF 1,2,3,4,5,6 ) The probability of having (the side of) tails (on the coin) come up, is also 1/2, becuase it is 1 of the 2 sides. The probability of these 2 events talking place is the product of their probabilities. 1/2 times 1/2 = 1/4.
