"The History Teacher" by Billy Collins- need help on some questions please!!!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the poet's explanation of the four historical events in the poem reveals the author's tone as (10 points) a) angry b) bitter c) joyful d) snide e) humorous

OpenStudy (anonymous):

What kind of mood does the poet create with his explanation of the two pre-historical periods of history? (10 points) a) an uncomfortable mood b) an angry mood c) a disapproving mood d) a humorous mood e) an angry and disapproving mood

OpenStudy (therealmeeeee):

Only post one question per box-_-

OpenStudy (anonymous):

.... why does it matter? I just need help with these two questions and I didn't want to have two open to go back and forth on. They both focus on the same thing so it is just easier this way.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@lace.vern could you help? Here is a link to the poem http://www.billy-collins.com/2005/06/the_history_tea.html

OpenStudy (therealmeeeee):

Because Thats what it say on the CoC

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah yeah, just leave me in peace. I don't think you've been hired as a rule enforcer for this website so just go on about your business and actually help people with problems they can't solve. That's what this website is for, not for you to tell me what I should and shouldn't do. If i wanted to hear that, I wouldn't get online for it. So, if you don't mind - leave me alone about something as trivial as this and help people who need to be helped.

OpenStudy (therealmeeeee):

Well have you read the CoC........You have to Follow the CoC or you can get in trouble!

OpenStudy (therealmeeeee):

@AccessDenied

OpenStudy (therealmeeeee):

Please close this question and post one by one

OpenStudy (therealmeeeee):

Do not post after this

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I have been on here several times and have asked several questions in one "box." I've even had discussions with up to 10 people will over 100 comments on a question and have yet to get in trouble. While I appreciate you trying to keep me from getting in "trouble," it is beginning to offend me greatly. - that is breaking the COC. Your response is not relating to my topic - that is breaking the COC. I see nothing about me not being allowed to post more than one question per box. Please just leave me alone! You should respect what I am asking of you because I have done nothing wrong nor have i gone out of my way to offend you as you have done to me.

OpenStudy (therealmeeeee):

If you post only one question per box I would Gladly Help

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I think its D. cuz: "The children would leave his classroom for the playground to torment the weak and the smart, mussing up their hair and breaking their glasses," an author would be disapproving bout this and possible angry.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

tht was 4 history teach

OpenStudy (anonymous):

question.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@gtb0329 aw you summoned me? that's too darn sweet. well, i'll try my best and get back to you in a minute.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i meant E. NOT D

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yay thanks guys!:D

OpenStudy (anonymous):

UR WELL COME.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@Jagking *you're welcome

OpenStudy (anonymous):

wht do u mean @Jagking *you're welcome?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

lol oh snap. We have got a grammar nazi in here!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@Jagking lol sorry, it just bothers me when I see improper grammar, so I find the urge to correct people when I have the chance. So sorry, if that deeply offends you.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I'm the same way with it. I want to strangle people when they mess up too, two and to or they're, their, and there

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i just realized i put a space between well and come. oh d.a.m.n. we got a grammer nazi.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ugh. I cannot decide on these questions. I fell like one could be snide or humorous and 2 could be disapproving or humorous

OpenStudy (anonymous):

feel*

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i say just snide.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

astronaut status!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i be doing tht no sleep.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

jk.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

whts up gaby?

OpenStudy (therealmeeeee):

Please stay on topic-_-

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@gtb0329 I thought the teacher was being humorous, trying to make light of the tragedies/historical events. So E and D?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

she can only choice 1.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah, i was thinking the same things @lace.vern snide and disapproval just kept coming in to mind too.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

There are two questions.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh. hey i got question 2 right.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay, so, toward the end, do you think that the flower beds and white picket fences that were mentioned mean that the teacher achieved his goal or that the children are truly innocent? Or both?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes, that's what I mean. For question 1) E and question 2) D

OpenStudy (anonymous):

If that reply was for me @lace.vern, i was just explaining that there are two questions to Jagking. lol sorry if there was any confusion.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i'm dumb.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

lol no, dumb people don't know that the apostrophe should be in I'm, they would just put im.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@gtb0329 No, the teacher did not achieve his goal. Because after he tried to prevent them from being evil: "The children would leave his classroom for the playground to torment the weak and the smart, mussing up their hair and breaking their glasses" So see, even after his lecture, these kids would bully others. So really, his attempt to protect their innocent was in vain because they ended up being cruel to their classmates.

OpenStudy (therealmeeeee):

@AccessDenied

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yea. access is denied for u.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh ho ho! look at you @lace.vern! I don't know how I manage not to put 2 and 2 together like that. haha glad i asked that question to double check myself. I would have gotten that all kinds of wrong. Thanks!!:)

OpenStudy (therealmeeeee):

@myininaya

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes, @AccessDenied could you please have this "TheRealMeeeee" leave me and other users alone! This is such a trivial matter. I have been trying to get help on my questions, which i have finally received no thanks to this person and their spam. TheRealMeeeee graciously informed me that i wasn't allowed to post more than one question per "box." After they sent me the Code of Conduct in my messages, I read through it and saw nothing prohibiting me from doing so. I did however notice that by not answering my question and continuously accusing me of breaking this code of conduct that TheRealMeeeee broke two of the rules in doing so... 1) Posting a reply that is not relevant to the topic of discussion within that question. 2)Don't be offensive, inappropriate, or creepy! So avoid: Insulting, berating, or otherwise discouraging others. TheRealMeeeee is not helping any users in any way, only bossing and discouraging. I do not like being accused and harassed in any shape or form, especially by someone I do not know.

OpenStudy (therealmeeeee):

@thomaster

OpenStudy (therealmeeeee):

You are spamming now you have to STAY ONE TOPIC

OpenStudy (anonymous):

DANG!!!! SHE GOT U. DON'T SAY ANYTHING ELSE. UR DONE. SHE KILLED U! LOL!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

she looked up tht junk 2 get u! IMAO!

OpenStudy (therealmeeeee):

And they tell me all the time to Only post ONE question per THREAD I got told that a while back by a Moderator Turning Test I think That's why I tell everyone to POST ONLY ONE question per box.... @Jagking I think you should stop saying stuff like that don't you see 2 Moderators?there?

OpenStudy (therealmeeeee):

@gtb0329 how am I harassing you by Telling you the rules?

thomaster (thomaster):

I don't see a rule in the CoC that says you cannot post more than 1 question in the same thread...

OpenStudy (therealmeeeee):

@TheSecretsToday I got in trouble a while back for posting many questions in a box

thomaster (thomaster):

It's just that you shouldn't post your entire assignment in a question and expect all the answers. Just 2 questions isn't a problem at all.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@TheRealMeeeee you are indeed harassing me by not leaving me alone about this matter. I asked you several times to leave me alone and you refused to do so.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no @TheRealMeeeee but keep on mentioning my name u'll get 4 buddy. and thts not a threat... thts a promise.

OpenStudy (therealmeeeee):

Well @thomaster I think I posted a whole assignment-_- that's why I got in trouble..:P @gtb0329 That's not Harassing:P @Jagking I'm just helping you so if you get in trouble just remember I told you so:P

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@TheRealMeeeee ha·rass [huh-ras, har-uhs] Show IPA verb (used with object) 1. to disturb persistently; torment, as with troubles or cares; bother continually; pester; persecute. The dictionary would beg to differ. Now please, leave this and me alone.

OpenStudy (therealmeeeee):

@gtb0329 Like I said i was not harassing you-_-

thomaster (thomaster):

I think we are done here. @gtb0329 I think it's best to close this one and post a new question if you're still in need of help.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thomaster.... tag him!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I was just thinking the same thing @thomaster. Thank you for your help. I appreciate it!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thomaster i still think u should tag him.

thomaster (thomaster):

tag who?

OpenStudy (therealmeeeee):

@thomaster Thanks!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@TheRealMeeeee

OpenStudy (therealmeeeee):

@Jagking I can't see if you Tag me I set my Notifications to I can only see who tags me if I fan them...Yes?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

LOOK 4 URSELF.

thomaster (thomaster):

Are we done now?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

r all of u just looking?

OpenStudy (therealmeeeee):
